The team behind Resort Manager hotel software
We built the Resort Manager property management system, and we still develop and support it ourselves.
Some have been running it for more than sixteen years. That is the most useful thing we can tell you about ourselves.
Sixteen years of daily use
That second sentence is the most useful thing we can tell you about ourselves, so it is worth staying with for a moment.
Changing property management system is disruptive and expensive. Staff have to be retrained, historic data has to move, and there is a period during which nothing is quite where anyone expects it. Properties do not go through that lightly, and they do not stay on a system for sixteen years unless leaving keeps looking like the worse option.
Much of the software you will be shown when you shortlist is younger than that. Hospitality technology has a long history of products that arrive, raise money, get acquired, and then quietly stop being developed while the invoices continue. A system still in daily use at the same properties after a decade and a half has been through several rounds of that cycle.
Who we are
We are the company that developed Resort Manager, and we have kept developing it. The management team's background is in information technology and in hospitality — both, which matters more than it sounds. A great deal of hotel software is written by people who have never watched a night auditor work at two in the morning, and it shows in the places you only find after you have bought it.
We are a small company. That is a genuine trade-off and we would rather name it than let you discover it: we do not have the marketing budget of the platforms you will be comparing us against, and we are not in every industry listicle. What we do have is that the people who build the software are the people who answer when you have a problem with it.

Where we are
We have a presence in Bali, which puts us in the same region and much the same working hours as the properties we serve across Southeast Asia.
That is not incidental. A support arrangement that only overlaps with your working day for two hours is a support arrangement you will come to resent, and someone who has never run a property through a high season in this part of the world will give you advice that sounds sensible and is not.

Someone else's account, and she is worth listening to
Ananda Mello Costa is an engineer with around two decades in enterprise systems, quality management and manufacturing — the sort of person who has spent a career watching organisations fail to make their data mean anything, and who now writes about exactly that at The Semantic Thread.
Somewhere in the middle of that she went to Southeast Asia to slow down, and ended up running a small eco resort on a remote island in the Philippines: eight rooms, forty-five staff, a restaurant, a spa, a dive centre and a kite centre, held together by spreadsheets on three laptops and a great deal of her own attention. She implemented a property management system there.
She chose Resort Manager, and describes it as "designed specifically for small hospitality operations".
Two things make her account worth more to you than anything on this page. It is independent — we did not commission it, we did not ask for it, and it is published on her site rather than ours. And she is not a hotelier who happened to buy some software; she is a systems engineer who has implemented enterprise systems for twenty years and chose this one for a small operation, having looked at the problem the way an engineer looks at it.
Most of what she wrote is not about the software at all. It is about what happens when information lives on paper, in cash, and in files that do not relate to each other — which is the actual condition of a great many small properties, and the thing worth reading whether or not you ever talk to us.
Read it in full — published with her permission to reference it here. The resort is deliberately unnamed in her account, so it stays unnamed in ours.
What we actually do
Three things, and we try not to pretend otherwise:
- The software
- Resort Manager handles reservations, front desk, housekeeping, billing and point of sale, for properties from small villas to resorts with a mixed inventory of rooms, bungalows and villas. See what it does.
- Getting it running
- Installation, data migration, configuration and training. Our services also covers the computer and network hardware side, because a property management system running on the wrong hardware is a property management system that does not work.
- Keeping it running
- After-sales support, which is the part sixteen-year customers are really buying.
What we are not
We are not the right choice for every property. If you are running a large branded hotel with a corporate technology standard, or you need an enterprise-scale platform with a partner ecosystem, there are better fits and we will say so.
We are a good fit for independent hotels, resorts and villa operations that want a system their team can actually learn, from a company that answers the phone.
Talk to us
Tell us about your property — how many units, what mix, which channels you sell through, and what you are running now. We will tell you honestly whether Resort Manager suits it.
